The Asian Population and Development Association (APDA) offers support to parliamentarians in the area of population and connects parliamentarians with government and private sectors through advocacy activities on population and development. Much of this work is accomplished as ADPA is the secretariat for the Japan Parliamentarians Federation for Population (JPFP). APDA's activities are not limited to Japan as APDA organizes annual international parliamentary meetings on population and development, as well as study tours, for parliamentarians to understand projects in the field of population and the importance of this work. As a research institute, APDA is commissioned to conduct international studies by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. APDA produces a variety of publications on population and development in Japanese and English for free distribution to related organizations and individuals.
